US Should Deny Visa for Iran's President

BOSTON, MA- Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian President, is planning to travel to the United Nations Headquarters in New York to attend the “2005 World Summit”.

In April 2005 country report, the U.S. State Department noted that Iranian regime is “the most active" state sponsor of terrorism. So, as the United States prepares to observe the fourth anniversary of September 11th and remembers the victims of terrorism, the head of the “most active state-sponsor of terrorism”, Amhadinejad, arrives in New York City to address the UN General Assembly on September 15th, 2005.

Ahmadinejad’s record for Iranian people is very clear. He has been directly involved in the interrogation and execution of political prisoners in the notorious Evin prison in Tehran. According to his friends and colleagues praising his commitment to regime’s fundamentalist ideology, Ahmadinejad is directly responsible for administrating one thousand “coup de grace” in Tehran’s prisons, killing both men and women. He was a trusted member of the Revolutionary Guards Corp, the most notorious organ of the fundamentalist regime in Iran. He was also directly involved in the extra-territorial assassinations of the exiled dissident where currently Austrian government is investigating his role in the assassination of Kurdish Democratic Party leaders in Vienna.

Ahmadinejad has a familiar record for the American public as well. According to former hostages, Chuck Scott, David Roeder, William J. Daugherty, and Don A. Sharer, he is recognized as one of the “leaders” who raided the US Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and lead “interrogator” during the 444 days of hostage crisis.

Therefore, Ahmadinejad stands on a 26 yeas record of terror and violence inflicted upon both Iranian and American people.

Let’s not forget that Ahmadinejad presidency represents the will of fundamentalist regime in Tehran and not the Iranian people. His presidency was manufactured by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khameini, and holds no popular legitimacy. Therefore, United Nations should not recognize Ahmadinejad as the representative of the proud nation of Iran. Iran’s UN seat belongs to the Iranian nation and not the fundamentalist regime in Tehran. Until Iranian people have free and fair elections, United Nations should not recognize Ahmadinejad as the head of Iranian state.

Women’s Forum Against Fundamentalism in Iran (WFAFI) calls upon UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, to prevent Ahmadinejad’s participation in “2005 World Summit” and stand by the Iranian people’s struggle for a free and democratic state.

WFAFI also calls upon President Bush and Secretary of State to deny Ahmadinejad’s entry visa to U.S. particularly as the nation prepares for the fourth memorial of September 11th tragedy. WFAFI urges Americans to contact their representatives in the House, Senate and other government officials to keep the pressure on Iran and take immediate action to deny an entry visa to Ahmadinejad.
